Volunteer Listeners
Be the calm voice someone needs to hear.
Mindscape listeners are trained students who help peers feel heard, supported, and safe, through honest conversation and active listening.
What listeners learn.
Active listening
Reflect, paraphrase, sit in silence. Help others feel truly heard.
Empathy
Meet people where they are without rushing to fix or advise.
Confidentiality
Hold space privately. Trust is the foundation of every session.
Conversation moderation
Use safety prompts and gentle redirection when conversations need care.
Emotional awareness
Notice signals, your own and others', and respond with intention.
Private session notes
After a session, listeners can leave brief private notes that help future trained listeners offer safer, more personalized support.
