Community Guidelines

You may not use Mindscape to engage in any of the following:

• harassment, bullying, or intimidation
• hate speech based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or any other protected characteristic
• discrimination of any kind
• impersonating another person, volunteer, moderator, or organization
• threats of violence or self-harm directed at others
• sexual misconduct, sexual advances, or sharing sexual content of any kind
• illegal activity or encouraging illegal activity
• sharing private or identifying information about yourself or others
• misusing the reporting system (false or retaliatory reports)
• abusing volunteers, insulting, threatening, or attempting to exploit their support
• abusing participants, pressuring, manipulating, or breaching their trust
• attempting to manipulate, deceive, or exploit the platform, its matching, or its moderation systems
• attempting to bypass moderation, suspensions, or bans (e.g. creating alternate accounts)

• Complete required training before taking sessions.
• Practice active listening; do not diagnose, prescribe, or provide professional advice.
• Respect participant confidentiality within the limits described in the Privacy Policy.
• Use volunteer notes only for legitimate continuity of support, never to shame, expose, or gossip.
• Report unsafe situations and abusive notes through the in-app tools.

• Be honest about your reasons for using Mindscape.
• Understand that volunteers are peer supporters, not therapists.
• Use the Emergency button and dial local emergency services if you are in danger.
• Report inappropriate behavior instead of retaliating.

Depending on the severity and history of the violation, consequences may include:

• Warning, a formal notice and guidance on expected behavior.
• Temporary suspension, loss of access to sessions or the platform for a defined period.
• Permanent account removal, irreversible removal of your access, including protection against re-signup with the same identifiers.

You may appeal a moderation decision from within your account. Appeals are reviewed by a human moderator.
